Cassia angustifolia<\/strong><\/a> is an Ayurvedic herb more popularly known as Indian Senna. It is mainly used as blood purifier, laxative- for relieving constipation and to treat skin disease. It is also known as Swarnapatri in Sanskrit.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

POINTS FOR GOOD CULTIVATION<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soil:<\/strong> <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is found to grow well on sandy loam and lateritic  soils of low to moderate fertility with a pH ranging 7 to 8.5 <\/p>\n\n\n\n

It is very sensitive to water logged conditions and thus avoid crust forming sticky soils which hinder germination<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Climate:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The crop is very sensitive to heavy rainfall and therefore such location should be avoided to grow this crop.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It prefers warm and dry weather during the growing season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Low temperature is also harmful as it affects the germination<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Irrigation:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the beginning, the field is irrigated at an interval or 6-7 days and later the interval is widened to 15-20 days depending on the weather and soil conditions. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
